ENVY: Trump Won More Than 2 Million Votes In 2016 Than Romney in 2012
Twice-failed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney claims he broke ranks during the Senate’s impeachment trial and voted to convict President Donald Trump of obstruction of Congress and abusing the office of the presidency because he is “profoundly religious” and a man of God.
The Utah Senator, who famously opposed Trump’s candidacy in 2016, repeatedly characterized his motivation to oust Trump during his eight-minute speech on the Senate floor as being motivated by a “good faith commitment to God” and the truth and his “oath to the constitution.”
“I swore an oath before God to exercise impartial justice. I am profoundly religious,” he said. “My faith is at the heart of who I am. I take an oath before God as enormously consequential.”
Romney’s back-stabbing actions have left many of us perplexed. Why did he do it? Is he a sociopath? Is he chasing approval from the establishment? Is he engaging in self-aggrandizement, milking his temporary self-importance in this impeachment charade? Is he a Democrat secret asset? (Yes!)

The age-old motive that has driven man towards reckless sabotage of their sensibilities is undoubtedly one of the underlying motives driving his treachery:
Mitt Romney is forever bitter that he will never be POTUS. He was too weak to beat the Democrats then so he’s joining them now.
He’s now officially a member of the resistance & should be expelled from the @GOP.

After spending millions of dollars of his own money during his second bid for the presidency, Romney became the embodiment of the greatest blown opportunity in modern American politics.
Trump’s 2016 vote totals demolished Romney’s 2012 vote totals in nearly every state across the country.
In Alabama, for instance, Trump’s 373,721 votes in 2016 were 193,385 votes more than Romney’s 180,336 votes in 2012.
In Arizona, the businessman won 47,576 more votes than the former Massachusetts Governor.
In the swing state of Florida, which Romney lost to President Obama in the general election, Trump beat Romney by more than 300,000 votes.
In the critical state of Ohio, Trump won 713,404 votes in Ohio, in the 2016 primary, 252,573 votes more than Romney’s 460,831 in the 2012 primary.
Even in Romney’s home state of Massachusetts, Trump trounced Romney by more than 46,000 votes.
In Trump’s home state of New York, the America First candidate performed four times better than Romney did four years earlier, receiving 515,091 votes in 2016 while Romney received 118,912 votes in the Empire State in 2012.
Trump won a staggering 2,122,557 more votes in the 2016 primary race than Romney did in the 2012 cycle. The political outsider received 8,776,586 votes in states that held primaries or caucuses or conventions, while Romney received 6,654,029 votes in those same states in 2012 – a 31.79 percent increase over Romney’s totals.
Trump electorally surpassed Romney in the following states and territories: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Breitbart News first compiled this data analysis in 2016 using Dave Leip’s Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections at USElectionAtlas.org, a database widely used by academics and media organizations including the New York Times, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell.
President Trump also beat Mitt Romney by 2 million votes in the general election.
Now, the same folks who hated Romney in 2012, who claimed he was a “racist” and a “nazi” and the epitome of soulless corporate greed are singing his praises.
Because “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
